Cooling fan at the top of the oven does not run; control panel becomes very hot or oven shuts down mid-cycle.

Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool fully before working near the control area.

• 1. Check vents: Ensure that the ventilation slots above and below the La Cornue oven are not blocked by cabinetry, foil, or other obstructions.
• 2. Listen for fan operation: During a bake cycle, the cooling fan should run once the oven heats up. If it never runs, proceed to inspect the fan.
• 3. Access cooling fan: Remove the top panel or rear panel (depending on model) to locate the cooling fan assembly near the control board.
• 4. Test motor: Disconnect the fan wires and measure resistance across the motor. An open reading indicates a failed motor. Also spin the fan by hand to check for seized bearings.
• 5. Check control output: If the motor is good, test for voltage at the fan connector when the oven is hot and should be calling for cooling. If no voltage is present, the control board or fan relay is likely defective and should be replaced.
