Possible Causes
Failed oven sensor, damaged sensor harness, loose connector, failed EOC sensor circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power at the circuit breaker before testing.
- Access sensor: Remove the sensor mounting screws inside the oven and pull the sensor forward.
- Measure resistance: Unplug the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature (~1050–1100 Ω). Very high or very low readings indicate a bad sensor.
- Inspect wiring: Check the harness and connectors between the sensor and control for damage.
- Replace sensor: Install a new Maytag oven temperature sensor if the readings are out of range. If the sensor and wiring are good, replace the EOC.
