Possible Causes
Open lower heating element, loose or burnt bake element terminals, broken wiring between the element and the control board, faulty bake relay on the main control board.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool.
Inspect and test the bake element:
- Remove the oven racks and inspect the lower/bake element for visible breaks or burn spots.
- Remove the mounting screws and pull the element forward to access the terminals.
- Disconnect the wires and test the element for continuity with a multimeter. An open circuit indicates a faulty element.
- Replace the bake element if it is open or damaged.
Check wiring and control:
- Access the rear of the oven and inspect the wiring from the element to the main control board.
- Repair any burnt or loose connectors.
- If the wiring and element are in good condition, the main control board's bake relay may have failed and will need replacement.
