Possible Causes

Open oven temperature sensor (RTD), broken sensor harness, loose sensor connector at control board.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before testing.

  • Locate the sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the thin metal probe on the rear wall. Remove the mounting screws and gently pull it forward to access the connector.
  • Test resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature, it should be around 1080 Ω. If the reading is infinite (open) or far off spec, replace the sensor.
  • Check harness continuity: If the sensor tests good, check continuity from the sensor connector to the control board connector using a multimeter. Repair any open or damaged wires.
  • Reseat connectors: At the control board, unplug and firmly reconnect the sensor harness. Look for bent pins or corrosion.
  • Replace faulty part: If wiring is good and F3 persists, replace the oven temperature sensor. If a new sensor does not resolve it, the electronic oven control board may have a bad sensor input circuit and should be replaced.
