Possible Causes
Open-circuit grill element, Burnt grill element terminals, Faulty grill selector switch (on knob models), Grill relay failure on the control board.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the mains power before accessing heating elements or switches.
Steps:
- Visual check: Inspect the grill element for any signs of sagging, cracks, or burn marks.
- Continuity test: From the rear of the oven, disconnect the grill element terminals and measure their resistance. An infinite reading indicates a failed element.
- Inspect selector switch: On models equipped with a mechanical function selector, remove the control panel and inspect the grill contacts for signs of burning or mechanical failure.
- Replace parts: Replace the grill element if it shows an open circuit or is visibly damaged. If the element is good but not receiving power, suspect the function selector switch or a control board relay.
Tip: Avoid placing foil directly against the grill element, as this can cause hotspots and premature failure.
