Possible Causes
Blown oven lamp, Faulty lamp holder, Broken lamp glass causing a short circuit, Faulty light switch or relay on the control board.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off the power supply and allow the lamp area to cool before touching it.
Steps:
- Replace bulb: Remove the glass lamp cover inside the oven (this usually twists off). Replace the bulb with the correct high-temperature oven lamp (typically 25–40 W, E14 base) as specified by Morphy Richards.
- Inspect lamp holder: Check the lamp holder contacts for any signs of heat damage or corrosion.
- Test continuity: If a new bulb still does not work, test the lamp holder and its wiring for continuity back to the control board.
- Control fault: If the wiring and lamp holder are in good condition, the light relay or switch on the electronic control board may have failed, and the board may need replacement.
Note: Always use oven-rated bulbs; standard bulbs will fail quickly due to high temperatures.
