Possible Causes
Open oven temperature sensor, Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose sensor connector at EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before testing or replacing parts.
Steps:
- Access sensor: Locate the oven temperature sensor inside the oven cavity (thin metal probe on rear wall, usually upper left or right). Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector.
- Check connection: If there is an in-line connector, separate it and inspect for corrosion or loose pins. Reseat firmly.
- Measure resistance: With the sensor disconnected, measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature it should be ~1050–1100 Ω. If reading is infinite (open) or far off, replace the sensor.
- Check harness to EOC: If the sensor is in range, pull the range out and remove the rear panel. Trace the sensor wires to the EOC and check for breaks or burns. Repair wiring or replace harness if damaged.
If F3 persists with a known-good sensor and wiring, the EOC may be misreading the circuit and should be replaced.
