Possible Causes

Shorted oven temperature sensor, Failed electronic oven control board temperature circuit, Stuck closed bake or broil relay on control board, Poor sensor harness connection causing incorrect readings

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. The oven may be extremely hot; allow it to cool fully before working inside.

  • Visual check: Open the oven and locate the temperature sensor probe (thin metal rod at the rear wall). Inspect for damage, breaks, or signs of overheating.
  • Check sensor resistance: With power off, remove the rear panel or control panel to access the sensor connector. Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature (~20–25°C), it should read about 1050–1100 Ω. If far out of range or open/shorted, replace the sensor.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the sensor to the control board for burns, cuts, or loose connectors. Repair or replace damaged wiring and reseat connectors firmly.
  • Control board evaluation: If the sensor tests good and wiring is intact, the EOC may be misreading temperature or driving the heating elements continuously. Inspect the board for burnt spots or stuck relays. Replace the EOC if defective.
  • Test operation: After replacing parts, run a bake cycle and monitor temperature with an oven thermometer to confirm stable operation and no recurrence of F2.
