Possible Causes
Open oven temperature sensor, Shorted oven temperature sensor, Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose or corroded sensor connector at control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing the rear or control area.
- Access the sensor: Locate the oven temperature sensor inside the cavity (rear wall). Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector.
- Test the sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature, expect ~1050–1100 Ω. If reading is infinite (open) or very low (short), replace the sensor.
- Check harness continuity: If the sensor tests good, check continuity from the sensor connector to the control board connector using a multimeter. Repair or replace any damaged wiring.
- Inspect connectors: Clean any oxidized or loose terminals at both the sensor and control board. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Replace control if needed: If sensor and wiring are good but F3 persists, the EOC sensor input circuit may be faulty and the control board should be replaced.
