Possible Causes

Open-circuit temperature sensor, Shorted temperature sensor, Corroded sensor connector, Faulty sensor input on control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from power before accessing internal components.

  • Locate and test sensor: Remove the rear cover to access the Toshiba cavity sensor connector. Disconnect and measure resistance at room temperature. If it reads OL (open) or near 0 Ω (short), replace the sensor.
  • Check connector and harness: Inspect the plug and socket for corrosion or moisture ingress. Clean with contact cleaner and ensure a tight fit. Check the harness for breaks or crushed sections.
  • Simulate sensor (advanced): If you have the correct resistor value from Toshiba service data, you can temporarily connect a fixed resistor to the PCB sensor input to confirm the board reads a stable temperature. If the error persists with a known-good resistor, the control PCB is likely faulty.
  • Replace control PCB if needed: If sensor and wiring are confirmed good, replace the Toshiba oven control module.

Do not bypass or short the sensor for normal operation; this is unsafe and can cause overheating.
