How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and verify the oven is de-energized before touching the grill element or wiring.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Inspect grill element: Open the door and visually inspect the top grill element for sagging, cracks, or burn marks. Check the support brackets.
- 2. Access terminals: Remove the top or rear cover to access the grill element terminals. Look for heat damage or loose spade connectors.
- 3. Test element: Disconnect the wires and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed grill element.
- 4. Replace grill element: Remove the fixing screws inside the cavity, gently lower or pull out the element, and fit a genuine Zanussi grill element. Reconnect the wires firmly.
- 5. Check control board output: If the element tests correctly, check that the PCB sends power to the grill when commanded (live testing should only be performed by a qualified person). If no output is detected, replace the main control board.
Warning: Grill elements operate at very high temperatures; ensure all heat shields and insulation are refitted correctly after repair.
