How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before opening the control panel.
- Inspect keypad and display: Check for cracks, warping, or signs of water entry around the control panel. If the panel was recently pressure washed or exposed to heavy rain, allow it to dry thoroughly.
- Check ribbon cable: Remove the control panel cover and locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad/display to the control board. Reseat both ends carefully, ensuring the cable is fully inserted and locked.
- Test buttons: After reseating, plug the grill back in and test each button. If some or all buttons remain unresponsive, the keypad or display assembly is likely defective.
- Replace UI assembly: Order a Broil King-compatible keypad/display assembly and install according to the service instructions.
