Possible Causes
Insufficient pellet feed, wet or poor-quality pellets, combustion fan not running at full speed, excessive heat loss due to an open lid or wind.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the grill off and allow it to cool before internal cleaning.
- Check Pellets: Ensure the hopper is full of dry, high-quality pellets. Replace any pellets that are swollen or crumbly.
- Clean Firepot: Remove ash and clinkers from the firepot to ensure proper combustion.
- Inspect Combustion Fan: Confirm the fan runs strongly during operation. Clean the fan blades and housing if dirty.
- Check for Air Leaks: Inspect the lid gasket and body seams. Excessive leaks can cause heat loss. Adjust lid alignment if needed.
- Shield from Wind: Use a windbreak or GMG thermal blanket in cold/windy conditions to help maintain temperature.
