Pellet Feed Program / P-Setting Misconfiguration
Display shows P1 or a similar P-code, and the temperature swings widely around the setpoint.

Possible Causes
Incorrect P-setting for ambient conditions, user-adjusted feed rate too high or too low, control board firmware mismatch, or RTD probe placement affected by wind.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Adjustments are made from the control panel; no internal access is required. Keep hands away from hot surfaces while the grill is running.
- Step 1 – Restore default P-setting: Refer to your Landmann manual and reset the P-setting (or feed program) to the factory default (often P2 or P4). This stabilizes pellet feed timing.
- Step 2 – Account for weather: In cold or windy conditions, a slightly lower P-setting (faster feed) may be needed. In hot weather, a higher P-setting (slower feed) can prevent overshoot. Adjust one step at a time and test.
- Step 3 – Shield from wind: Position the grill so that strong wind does not blow directly into the exhaust or across the RTD probe. Use a windbreak if necessary.
- Step 4 – Verify probe cleanliness: Clean the RTD probe to ensure accurate readings.
- Step 5 – Firmware check: If your model supports firmware updates and you experience erratic P-code behavior, consult Landmann support for the latest firmware or control board replacement.
