Possible Causes
A damaged meat probe cable, probe tip exposed to direct flame, loose probe jack connection, or a failed meat probe sensor.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Use heat-resistant gloves when handling a hot probe. Allow it to cool if necessary.
Steps:
- Inspect Probe: Check the stainless steel probe and cable for kinks, cuts, or melted insulation. Replace if damaged.
- Check Jack: Unplug and reinsert the probe plug into the Napoleon probe jack several times to clean the contacts.
- Cross-Check: If you have a second Napoleon probe, plug it into the same jack. If the second probe works, the original probe is faulty.
- Jack Test: If multiple probes fail on the same jack, the jack or control board input may be defective and require replacement.
