How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Work on a cool grill.
- Remove loose rust: Use a grill brush or fine steel wool to remove surface rust from the grates and interior surfaces.
- Clean and dry: Wipe surfaces with a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly.
- Season grates: Apply a thin coat of high-smoke-point cooking oil to the grates and run the grill at 350–400°F for 30–45 minutes.
- Use a cover: Protect the Nexgrill pellet grill with a fitted cover when not in use and avoid storing pellets in the hopper in damp climates.
