Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF, unplug the grill, and let it cool completely. Do not put hands near the auger while powered.
- Check pellet hopper: Ensure pellets are dry and not clumped. Remove any sawdust buildup at the bottom of the hopper that can compact and jam the auger.
- Inspect auger movement: With the grill unplugged, remove pellets from the hopper until you can see the auger. Try to rotate the auger by hand (using pliers on the exposed end if needed). If it will not move, it is jammed.
- Clear jam: Remove the auger motor cover, disconnect the motor from the auger shaft (set screw or pin), and pull the auger out from the hopper side. Scrape off compacted pellets and rust, then sand lightly and wipe clean. Reinstall the auger and motor.
- Check motor operation: With the auger disconnected, briefly power the grill and observe if the auger motor shaft turns. If it does not move or only hums, the motor is likely failed.
- Verify wiring: Confirm the auger motor connector is fully seated on the control board and wires are intact.
Replace the auger motor if it does not run under power or is excessively noisy. If Er03 persists with a free-moving auger and good motor, the control board may be defective.
