Possible Causes
RTD connector unplugged from control board, Broken RTD wire inside insulation, RTD probe pulled out of mounting hole
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or probe.
Steps to resolve:
- Verify probe presence: Check inside the cook chamber to ensure the RTD probe is still mounted in its hole and has not been knocked loose or broken off.
- Check connections: Remove the control panel and confirm the RTD plug is fully seated on the control board. Reseat it several times to ensure good contact.
- Inspect cable: Look for any cuts, pinch points, or melted sections along the RTD cable. If the cable is damaged, replace the probe assembly.
- Continuity test: With the RTD disconnected, measure resistance across its two leads. If the meter shows open circuit (OL), the probe is bad and must be replaced.
- Install new RTD: Fit a new RTD temperature sensor probe into the chamber wall, secure it, and route the cable safely to the control board.
- Power up and verify: Plug in the grill and confirm that the temperature reading is reasonable and that L1 is cleared.
