Possible Causes
Failed power module (IGBT) on AquaJet inverter board, Shorted DC bus capacitors, Internal control board failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: The inverter board stores high voltage even after power is removed. Do not open the drive housing unless you are trained and equipped to safely discharge capacitors.
- Power cycle: Turn off the breaker and wait at least 5 minutes to allow internal capacitors to discharge. Turn power back on and attempt to restart the pump.
- Check for external shorts: Disconnect the motor leads at the AquaJet drive output (U/V/W) and try to start. If E05 clears with motor disconnected, the motor may be shorted.
- Inspect for visible damage: With power off and cover removed, look for burnt components or bulging capacitors on the inverter board. Do not touch circuitry.
- Replace drive module: If E05 persists and supply/motor are confirmed good, the AquaJet control/inverter board will typically need replacement as a complete assembly.
