Possible Causes
Pump strainer housing not fully filled with water, Air leak at pump lid O‑ring, Suction valve partially closed, Blocked skimmer or main drain line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before opening the pump lid or handling valves.
- Prime the AquaJet pump: Close suction and return valves. Remove the pump lid and fill the strainer housing completely with water. Inspect and clean the lid O‑ring, lubricate with silicone grease, and reinstall the lid securely.
- Open valves fully: Ensure all suction and return valves are fully open. Partially closed valves can prevent proper priming.
- Clean baskets and filter: Empty skimmer and pump baskets. Backwash or clean the filter to reduce resistance.
- Restart and observe: Open valves, restore power, and start the pump. Watch through the clear lid; the housing should fill with water within a minute. Persistent air indicates a suction‑side leak that may require inspection of unions and fittings.
