Pump runs but there is air and bubbles coming out of pool returns.

Safety first: Turn off power before tightening fittings or opening the pump.

• Raise water level:
  • Ensure pool water is mid-skimmer opening to prevent vortexing air.
• Service pump lid and drain plugs:
  • Clean and lubricate lid O-ring.
  • Check pump drain plugs for tightness and intact O-rings; replace if needed.
• Check suction fittings:
  • Tighten unions and inspect for small leaks when pump is off.
• Bleed air from filter:
  • Open the filter air relief valve until a steady stream of water emerges.
