Pahlén pump controller intermittently shows E13 and stops unexpectedly

Safety first: Ground faults are serious shock hazards. Isolate power at the main breaker and do not operate the pump until the fault is located.

• Inspect motor terminal box: Open the cover and check for moisture, corrosion, or loose conductors. Dry thoroughly and reseal with intact gaskets.
• Check cable glands: Ensure glands on the Pahlén motor and control panel are tight and undamaged to prevent water ingress.
• Insulation testing: A qualified technician should perform an insulation resistance test (megger) between motor windings and earth. Low readings indicate a failing motor.
• Replace damaged components: Replace any water-damaged cables or the motor itself if insulation is compromised.
