Possible Causes
Loose keypad ribbon cable, Failed keypad overlay, Corroded low‑voltage connector, Faulty control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before removing the drive or keypad cover.
- Inspect keypad cable: Remove the front cover of the Sta‑Rite variable‑speed pump drive. Locate the flat ribbon cable or plug connecting the keypad to the main board. Ensure it is fully seated and not pinched.
- Check for moisture and corrosion: Look for green or white corrosion on the connector pins. Clean lightly with electronic contact cleaner and a soft brush, then reconnect.
- Examine keypad overlay: If buttons are unresponsive or cracked, the keypad membrane may be damaged. Replace the keypad / user interface assembly if available as a separate part.
- Reset: Restore power and test operation. If E09 persists, the main control PCB may have a failed communication circuit and will need replacement.
