Rheem
Insufficient Flow Rate / Incorrect Speed Programming
Pump runs but pool water remains cloudy or dirty despite apparent circulation.

Possible Causes
Rheem variable-speed pump programmed at too low RPM, Clogged filter reducing effective turnover, Bypassed or partially closed valves around filter, Oversized pool relative to programmed run time
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn OFF pump before adjusting valves; programming changes can be made with power on.
- Increase speed and run time: On Rheem variable-speed models, raise the RPM during filtration cycles and extend daily run time to achieve at least one full turnover of pool volume.
- Verify valve positions: Ensure water is actually passing through the filter and not bypassing via a heater bypass or recirculate setting.
- Clean the filter: Backwash or clean cartridges to restore full flow.
- Monitor pressure and flow: Adjust speed until you see strong return flow and appropriate filter pressure.
