Possible Causes
Aging oven temperature sensor, control calibration offset, poor rack placement or load, or door gasket leaks.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing panels, but temperature testing is done with power on.
- Verify with thermometer: Place an oven thermometer in the center of the oven and preheat to 350°F. Compare the average temperature over 20–30 minutes to the set temperature.
- Adjust calibration: Many Amana models allow temperature offset adjustment in the user settings (e.g., +/- 30°F). Follow the user manual to adjust.
- Check sensor and gasket: If the offset is large (>35°F), test the oven sensor resistance and replace if out of spec. Inspect the door gasket for gaps or tears and replace if leaking.
