Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty fan triac or relay on the control board, Broken wiring to the fan motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the power and allow the oven to cool before accessing internal components.
- Check vents: Ensure the ventilation slots above the door and at the rear are not blocked by cabinetry or other objects.
- Listen for fan operation: When the oven is on (before the error appears), listen for the internal cooling fan. If it is silent or noisy, suspect a faulty fan motor.
- Access fan: Remove the rear panel of the range to access the cooling fan assembly. Inspect for seized bearings, broken blades, or obstructions.
- Test fan motor: Using a multimeter, check the continuity of the fan motor windings. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Also check for supply voltage at the fan when the oven is calling for cooling (requires live testing; only for qualified persons).
- Replace faulty parts: Replace the cooling fan motor if it is defective. If the motor is functional but never receives power, the control board fan relay/triac is likely faulty, and the EOC must be replaced.
Warning: Operating without proper cooling can lead to overheating and damage to the control electronics.
