Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor, Jammed lock mechanism, Faulty door lock switch, Broken wiring between the lock and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the power supply. If the door is locked with dishes inside, allow the oven to cool completely before attempting manual release.
- Manual release: On many Bauknecht models, a manual release lever is accessible behind the front panel or through the bottom drawer area. Consult the user manual. Gently move the lever to unlock the door.
- Inspect lock assembly: Remove the top panel or front fascia to access the door lock motor and latch. Check for mechanical obstruction, bent parts, or grease buildup.
- Test lock motor and switches: Using a multimeter, check the continuity of the lock motor and the lock position switches. Replace the lock assembly if the motor is open or if the switches do not change state when the latch moves.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the lock assembly to the EOC for breaks or loose connectors.
Warning: Never force the oven door open; this can damage the hinges and the glass.
