Possible Causes
Power interruption causing clock reset, timer set to auto mode, child lock on the clock, faulty clock module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal access is required for basic checks.
- Set the time: After a power cut, many Belling ovens require the clock to be set before the oven will operate. Press the clock button and use '+' and '-' to set the correct time, then confirm.
- Cancel auto mode: If the oven symbol or 'AUTO' is lit, press the timer buttons in sequence (usually 'Cook Time' then 'End Time', then set both to zero) to return to manual mode.
- Child lock: Some clocks have a lock function. Press and hold the appropriate button combination (see manual) to unlock.
- Clock failure: If the display is dim, flickering, or unresponsive, the clock/timer PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
