Possible Causes

Control lock activated by user, stuck control lock key, or a firmware glitch in the user interface.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: No internal repair is needed for normal control lock use.

  • Unlock controls: On most GE Profile ranges, press and hold the Lock Controls or Control Lock pad for 3–5 seconds until LOC disappears. On some models, press and hold 9 and 0 together.
  • Power reset: If LOC will not clear, turn off the breaker for 1 minute and try again.
  • Check for stuck key: If the lock key is physically stuck, clean around the button and gently free it. If still unresponsive, the touch panel may need replacement.
