Possible Causes

Open or shorted NTC temperature sensor, damaged sensor wiring harness, loose connector at sensor or control board, failed electronic oven control (EOC) on Gorenje range

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch off the range at the circuit breaker and verify the oven is completely cold before working inside.

  • Access the sensor: Open the oven door and locate the temperature sensor probe at the rear wall (usually top left or top center). Remove the mounting screw(s) and gently pull the sensor tip forward to access the connector.
  • Check connections: Inspect the sensor plug and wiring for burns, corrosion, or loose pins. Reseat the connector firmly. If the harness is brittle or damaged, it should be replaced.
  • Test the sensor: With a multimeter set to resistance (ohms), measure across the two sensor terminals. A typical Gorenje NTC sensor should read around 1 kΩ at 25°C (check your model’s service data). Infinite resistance indicates an open sensor; near 0 Ω indicates a short.
  • Inspect wiring to the EOC: Remove the rear cover of the range (with power still OFF). Trace the sensor wires to the electronic oven control board and check for pinched, cut, or burned insulation.
  • Replace faulty parts: If the sensor is out of spec, replace the oven temperature sensor. If the sensor and wiring are good but F1 persists, the electronic oven control board is likely defective and should be replaced.

Warning: Do not work on live circuits. If you are not comfortable using a multimeter or removing panels, contact a qualified technician.
