Possible Causes

Failed door lock motor assembly, Broken or jammed lock latch, Faulty door lock switch, Wiring issue between lock and control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power. If the door is locked with racks or items inside, allow the oven to cool completely before attempting to open.

  • Manual release: On many Haier models, you can access the door lock mechanism from the top or rear. Remove the top panel or rear cover and locate the lock motor and latch. Manually move the latch to unlock the door if needed.
  • Inspect lock assembly: Check for bent linkage, broken plastic parts, or signs of overheating. Replace the door lock motor assembly if it does not move when powered.
  • Check lock switch: Use a multimeter to test the lock position switch for proper open/closed operation as the latch moves.
  • Wiring check: Verify continuity from the lock assembly to the control board. Repair any damaged wires or loose connectors.
  • Control board: If the lock assembly and wiring are good but F9 persists, the EOC may not be driving the lock circuit correctly and may need replacement.

Never force the oven door open; this can damage hinges and the glass.
