Possible Causes
Aged oven temperature sensor, control board calibration offset, poor rack placement or overloading
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Surfaces may be hot; allow the oven to cool before accessing internal components.
- Verify with thermometer: Place an oven-safe thermometer in the center of the oven and operate at 180°C (350°F) for at least 20 minutes. Compare the actual temperature to the set temperature.
- Adjust calibration: Many Ikea/Whirlpool controls allow temperature offset adjustment in the settings menu (e.g., ±15–30°C). Refer to your user manual to adjust.
- Check sensor: If the offset is large or unstable, test the oven temperature sensor resistance at room temperature (~1050–1100 Ω). Replace if out of range.
- Load and rack use: Avoid blocking airflow with oversized trays or foil; use recommended rack positions.
