Control lock feature enabled by user, stuck lock key, software glitch in control board.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: No internal repair is needed for normal control lock use.

  • Disable control lock:
    • Press and hold the Lock or Control Lock key for 3–5 seconds until LOC disappears.
    • On some Kenmore models, press and hold Start or a specific key combination (refer to user manual).
  • Power reset if lock will not clear:
    • Turn off power at the breaker for 1 minute, then restore.
    • Try the lock/unlock sequence again.
  • If LOC remains and keys are unresponsive:
    • Keypad may be faulty; inspect and possibly replace the control panel / keypad.
