Gas surface burners click but will not light, or the flame is weak or yellow.

Safety first: Turn off burners and allow them to cool. Do not use sharp objects that can enlarge burner ports.

• Check burner cap:
  • Ensure the burner cap is centered and seated flat on the burner base.
• Clean burner ports:
  • Remove burner caps and heads.
  • Use a soft brush or wooden toothpick to clear debris from each port.
  • Soak burner heads in warm soapy water, then dry thoroughly.
• Verify gas supply:
  • Confirm the gas shutoff valve to the range is fully open.
  • If other gas appliances are weak, contact your gas supplier.
• Check gas type/orifices:
  • If the range was recently converted between natural gas and LP, verify the correct surface burner orifices are installed per the conversion kit instructions.
• Test ignition:
  • Reassemble burners and test. If flames are still weak or yellow, a regulator or supply issue may exist; professional service is recommended.
