Possible Causes

Stuck residual heat sensor, shorted indicator circuit on control board, miswired indicator lamp, sensor NTC out of range

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Confirm that all zones are actually cool before assuming a fault.

  • Power reset: Turn off power for a few minutes and restore. If the indicator remains on, proceed.
  • Sensor check: Access the underside of the cooktop and locate the residual heat sensors attached to the radiant elements. Test their resistance at room temperature and compare to specifications.
  • Wiring inspection: Check for shorted wires between sensors and the indicator circuit.
  • Replace sensor or board: Replace the faulty residual heat sensor if out of spec. If sensors are good, the indicator/control board may be defective.

Note: Some models keep the indicator on for an extended time by design; consult the manual for normal behavior.
