Possible Causes

Failed cooling fan motor, blocked fan blades, faulty fan triac or relay on control board, open or shorted fan wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power. The cooling fan is located behind the oven cavity; metal edges can be sharp.

  • Access fan: Remove the rear cover of the built-in oven or the back panel of the range to expose the cooling fan assembly.
  • Check for obstruction: Spin the fan blades by hand. They should rotate freely without scraping. Remove any insulation, wiring, or debris obstructing movement.
  • Test fan motor: Disconnect the fan connector and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. If you are qualified, you can briefly power the motor with mains (using proper insulated leads) to confirm operation.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the fan to the control board for burns or loose connections.
  • Control output: If the fan motor is good but never runs, the control board's fan relay/triac may be defective. Look for burnt spots on the PCB.
  • Replace parts: Replace the cooling fan motor if seized or open, or the main control module if it does not switch the fan correctly.

Note: A non-functioning cooling fan can overheat the electronics; do not operate the oven until the fault is corrected.
