Electronic oven control beeps and displays F1, oven functions disabled or erratic temperature control

Safety first: Turn off the range at the circuit breaker and allow all components to cool before removing any panels. Do not work on live circuits.

• Power reset: Switch the breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then back ON. If F1 returns immediately, the fault is likely in the keypad or control board.
• Inspect control fascia: Remove the front control panel trim (consult La Cornue service manual for your series). Check for grease, moisture, or corrosion around the keypad and ribbon cable.
• Clean and reseat ribbon: Disconnect the keypad ribbon from the electronic oven control (EOC). Clean the contacts gently with isopropyl alcohol and a lint‑free swab, then reseat firmly.
• Isolate keypad vs board: With power OFF, disconnect the keypad ribbon from the EOC. Restore power briefly: if F1 persists with the keypad unplugged, the EOC is faulty; if F1 disappears, the keypad/fascia is faulty.
• Replace faulty part: Order the correct La Cornue electronic oven control or keypad/fascia assembly by model and serial number. Install by transferring one wire at a time from the old board to the new, ensuring all stand‑offs and earth grounds are reattached.
• Final test: Restore power, run a bake cycle and verify that the error does not reappear and that temperature is stable.
