Oven door will not close fully or pops open slightly during operation

Safety first: Ensure the oven is cool before working on the door. Support the door to prevent dropping.

• Inspect hinges: Open the door fully and check for sagging or uneven gaps. Tighten hinge mounting screws on the door and frame.
• Remove and reseat door: Many La Cornue doors can be lifted off the hinges at a partially open position. Remove the door, inspect hinge arms for bending, and reseat firmly.
• Check gasket: A swollen or misfitted gasket can push the door open. Replace the gasket if it is deformed or hardened.
• Latch alignment: If equipped with a latch, adjust the strike plate so the latch engages smoothly without excessive force.
