Possible Causes

Protective oils on elements, residues on cavity surfaces, packing material left inside.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Ensure good ventilation. If smoke is excessive or persistent, switch off and investigate.

  • Initial burn-in: Remove all packaging, labels, and plastic from inside and outside the oven. Heat the oven empty at 200–250°C for 30–60 minutes with the door closed and a window open.
  • Check for foreign objects: Inspect around elements and behind the back panel for any remaining packing materials.
  • Clean surfaces: After cooling, wipe the interior with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
  • Monitor: A mild smell may persist for the first few uses but should diminish. If a strong burning smell continues, inspect elements and wiring for damage.
