Possible Causes

Open radiant element coil, Failed infinite switch or burner control, Loose wiring at element terminals, Faulty main PCB output (for electronic controls)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker and allow the cooktop to cool completely.

Basic checks:

  • Verify the hot surface indicator for that burner works; if it never lights, the element may be open.

Internal inspection (advanced):

  • Remove the cooktop glass to access the radiant elements.
  • Inspect the affected element for visible breaks or burn spots.
  • Check wiring connections to the element and control switch/board.
  • Test the element for continuity with a multimeter; replace if open.

Note: If the element is good, the burner control (infinite switch or PCB) may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
