Possible Causes
Spilled grease or food on bottom or elements, Foil covering oven bottom or racks, Failing bake element overheating, Incorrect cookware or liners
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If smoke is heavy, turn OFF the oven, open windows, and keep the oven door closed to smother flames if any appear. If flames persist, call emergency services.
Inspection:
- Once cool, remove racks and inspect the oven bottom and elements for heavy grease or food buildup.
- Remove any foil from the oven bottom or racks; Samsung does not recommend covering the oven bottom.
Cleaning:
- Clean spills with a non-abrasive cleaner and warm water.
If smell persists with a clean oven: The bake element may be overheating or cracked. Inspect and replace the bake element if damaged. If unsure, have a technician evaluate.
