Possible Causes

User-activated control lock, stuck keypad, control board misreading key presses.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: No internal repair is needed for normal lock operation. If disassembling, disconnect the power supply.

Steps:

  • Unlock controls: On most SMEG ovens, press and hold the lock key or a combination (e.g., '+' and '-' or 'Menu' and 'OK') for 3–5 seconds until 'LOC' disappears. Refer to the user manual for the exact sequence.
  • Power reset: If the lock will not clear, turn off the power supply for 5 minutes, then restore it and try again.
  • Keypad check: If certain buttons do not respond or the lock symbol reappears randomly, the touch panel or keypad may be faulty and require replacement.

Warning: Do not attempt to bypass the lock function by altering wiring; replace the faulty control panel instead.
