Tecnogas range displays E5 and the oven fan or cooling fan does not run, or the oven shuts down shortly after starting.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any panels. The fan blades can be sharp, so exercise caution.
Steps:
- Access the fan: On many Tecnogas models, the cooling fan is behind the rear panel or above the oven cavity. Remove the back cover to access the fan.
- Check for obstructions: Spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely without scraping. Remove any insulation or debris blocking it.
- Test the motor: With a multimeter, check for continuity across the fan motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor, requiring replacement.
- Verify voltage: With power restored and extreme caution, start a bake cycle and measure voltage at the fan motor (only if you are trained and comfortable doing so). If the control sends power but the fan does not run, replace the motor.
If the fan motor is good but never receives power, the control board fan relay may be defective and the EOC may need replacement.
