Oven produces excessive smoke during first use or at high temperatures

Safety first: Ensure good kitchen ventilation; open windows and use exhaust fans. Do not leave the oven unattended.

• Initial burn-in: For a new Whirlpool range, run an empty bake cycle at 400–450°F for 30–60 minutes to burn off manufacturing residues.
• Clean interior: After cooling, wipe the oven interior with warm soapy water to remove residue.
• Remove heavy spills: If smoke occurs after spills, remove the oven bottom panel (if removable) and clean up any grease or food debris.
