How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing the compressor area. Do not bypass safety devices.

Check power supply: Ensure the outlet provides stable voltage and is not shared with heavy loads.
Inspect start device: Remove the cover on the side of the compressor to access the start relay and overload. Look for burn marks or rattling pieces inside the relay.
Replace start device: If the relay is burnt or rattles when shaken, replace the compressor start relay and overload with the correct JennAir-approved part.
Compressor condition: If a new start device does not resolve the issue, the compressor may be locked or failing and will require replacement by a certified technician.
