Possible Causes
Unit is not level, Food items are blocking the door, Warped or torn door gasket, Misaligned hinges
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use caution when adjusting doors; they are heavy and can pinch fingers.
- Remove obstructions: Check shelves and bins for items that are protruding and preventing the door from closing completely.
- Level the refrigerator: Adjust the front leveling legs so the unit is tilted back slightly; this helps the doors to close on their own.
- Inspect gaskets: Examine the door gaskets for warping or tears. Warm and reshape minor warps with a hair dryer on a low heat setting.
- Adjust hinges: Loosen the hinge screws slightly and adjust the door's position so it aligns with the cabinet, then retighten them. If the hinges are bent, replace the door hinge assembly.
