Possible Causes

Defective door switch, Misaligned door causing poor switch engagement, Broken door switch wiring, Faulty main control board door input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any door switch components.

Steps to check:

  • Inspect door alignment: Ensure the refrigerator and freezer doors close fully and are level. Adjust hinges if the door is sagging and not engaging the switch.
  • Check the door switch: Locate the door switch (usually in the frame near the top or side). Press it manually and listen for a click. If it feels loose or does not click, it may be faulty.
  • Test continuity: Remove the switch and test with a multimeter. It should show continuity when pressed and open when released. Replace if it fails this test.
  • Inspect wiring: Check for damaged or pulled wires at the switch connector.

Note: If switches and wiring are good but E11 persists, the main control board may not be reading the door status correctly and may need replacement by a technician.
