Possible Causes
Damaged or deformed door gasket, Door not closing fully due to misalignment, Frequent door openings in a humid environment, Blocked air vents reducing circulation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the appliance is stable and will not tip when doors are opened fully.
Steps:
- 1. Inspect gaskets: Check for tears, gaps, or hardened sections of the door seals. Close a sheet of paper in the door; if it pulls out easily, the seal is weak.
- 2. Clean gaskets: Wipe seals with warm soapy water to remove grease and debris that prevent proper sealing.
- 3. Adjust door alignment: If the door is sagging, adjust the hinges so the door closes squarely against the cabinet.
- 4. Replace gaskets: If seals are damaged, replace them with genuine V-ZUG door gasket sets for the refrigerator and/or freezer.
- 5. Improve usage habits: Reduce door opening time and avoid placing hot or uncovered liquids inside.
Warning: After gasket replacement, allow time for the new seals to conform to the cabinet; minor condensation may occur initially.
