Misaligned ice bin, Failed bin switch or optical sensor, Dirty optical emitter/receiver, Broken bin sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing sensor components.
Steps:
- Check bin placement: Ensure the ice bin is fully seated and correctly aligned with the drive and sensor area.
- Clean optics: On models with optical ice level sensors, gently clean the emitter and receiver windows with a soft cloth.
- Test bin switch: If a mechanical switch is used, test continuity while moving the bin in and out. Replace if faulty.
- If the sensor and bin are good but E0 04 remains, replace the ice level sensor or ice maker assembly as applicable.
