Water is leaking from the front of the refrigerator, forming a puddle under the crisper drawers or at the bottom of the fresh food section.

Safety First: Unplug the refrigerator before removing any panels. Use towels to catch meltwater.

Steps:

• Access the drain: Remove the rear panel inside the freezer to expose the evaporator and drain trough.
• Clear the ice: Use warm water or a turkey baster to melt ice in the drain trough and hole. Do not use sharp tools.
• Flush the drain tube: From inside the freezer, flush warm water down the drain until it flows freely into the drain pan near the compressor.
• Clean the drain pan: Pull the unit out and clean the drain pan of any sludge or debris.
• If the drain repeatedly freezes, consider installing a Whirlpool drain heater kit if one is available for your model.
